Microsoft named a Leader in 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Integration Platform as a Service

Our goal is to assist organisations in streamlining connectivity, updating outdated systems, and harnessing the full potential of AI-driven automation.

We are excited to share that Microsoft has been named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic QuadrantTM for Integration Platform as a Service*. This marks the seventh consecutive time we’ve achieved this recognition. We believe this accolade highlights our dedication to helping organisations simplify connectivity, modernise legacy systems, and maximise AI-powered automation through Azure Integration Services.

Why Integration is Crucial for AI Success

AI is revolutionising business operations, enhancing customer experiences, and driving innovation across all sectors. However, to fully capitalise on AI’s capabilities, businesses require more than just models and applications; they need a contemporary integration framework that seamlessly connects data, applications, and systems across both cloud and on-premises settings.

This is precisely where Azure Integration Services plays a vital role. It provides a solid base for interconnected, intelligent, and adaptable operations. This fully managed, enterprise-grade solution—which includes Azure Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure Functions, and Data Factory—enables organisations to automate processes, streamline workflows, and link distributed, multi-cloud environments. As businesses embrace AI, Azure Integration Services serves as the essential connector that facilitates secure, intelligent operations at scale.

The Legacy Challenge: Realising Value to Progress

For numerous organisations, AI presents both an opportunity and a hurdle. Critical data is often stored within outdated systems and isolated platforms. While these systems contain decades of business logic and data, they lack the flexibility and accessibility demanded by modern AI solutions.

Azure Integration Services enables clients to modernise gradually, transitioning from tools like Microsoft BizTalk Server or other legacy systems to a cloud-based integration framework. This approach not only helps preserve existing investments but also establishes a secure, scalable pathway towards an AI-powered future.

During our recent “Unleash AI Innovation with a Modern Integration Platform and an API-First Strategy” event, our clients shared insights on how they are revolutionising operations with Azure Integration Services and Azure API Management.

Consider Visa’s transition from Microsoft BizTalk Server to Azure Logic Apps. The firm reimagined its HR data platform by merging over 100 systems—including Workday, ADP, and more—into a cohesive, modern architecture powered by Azure Logic Apps. This shift not only cut infrastructure maintenance by 95% but also boosted integration development efficiency by 30% and reduced developer onboarding time by 40%. With Azure Integration Services, Visa is currently expanding its operations, paving the way for AI integration throughout its HR and operations frameworks.

LyondellBasell, among the world’s leading firms in plastics, chemicals, and refining, made a similar switch from BizTalk to Azure Integration Services. They experienced a 50% increase in integration efficiency and reduced operational expenses by adopting a pay-as-you-go model. By leveraging hybrid connectivity and a cloud-native framework, LyondellBasell acquired the agility to respond swiftly to global supply chain challenges and operational demands.

In Australia, Brisbane City Council utilised Azure Integration Services to refresh a 15-year-old integration stack that supports operations for over 1.5 million residents. Following the upgrade, data retrieval times plummeted from over an hour to under five minutes. This advancement facilitated quicker decision-making, unlocked intelligent automation, and enhanced the service experience for citizens.

Moneris, a prominent player in fintech, has adopted an API-first strategy to transform its payments ecosystem using Azure API Management. This change significantly shortened time-to-market, allowing developers to transition from sign-up to production in just 72 hours—a drastic reduction from over six months—while ensuring top-notch security and compliance.

Heineken has similarly undertaken an API-first transformation, achieving seamless integration and real-time responsiveness across its global operations. With Azure API Management, Heineken’s API ecosystem promotes operational excellence, achieving 100% platform availability and fostering ongoing innovation and growth.

Across various sectors and regions, organisations are opting for Azure Integration Services to bridge the gap between legacy systems and the era of intelligent operations, all at their own pace.

Creating Intelligent Automation through Comprehensive AI Integration

As the adoption of AI accelerates, Microsoft leads in innovation within Azure Integration Services, offering robust new features that simplify embedding AI into workflows.

Over the past year, we’ve rolled out a range of improvements that assist organisations in seamlessly integrating large language models (LLMs) and other AI functionalities into their processes. With tools tailored for both low-code and pro-code developers, teams can operate more efficiently—effortlessly incorporating AI into their applications.

Azure Logic Apps now provides ready-to-use connectors for Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and Document Intelligence, allowing teams to effortlessly enhance workflows with intelligence without the need for extensive coding. New integrated functions for document parsing and chunking in Logic Apps Standard simplify retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) scenarios, facilitating the ingestion of both structured and unstructured data into AI Search.

As the uptake of AI expands, so does the demand for transparency and oversight regarding how models are accessed and employed. Azure API Management addresses this concern with advanced tools for securing, controlling, and managing AI APIs. Our developing GenAI Gateway capabilities, specifically designed for generative AI use cases, offer improved governance, observability, and control for AI APIs. With Azure API Management, you can confidently scale and secure your AI APIs while ensuring high performance and reliable governance in a consolidated, enterprise-grade platform.

What distinguishes Azure Integration Services is its inherent, seamless connection to Microsoft’s AI ecosystem, providing not only intelligent building blocks but a unified, enterprise-capable platform for smart business automation.

A Platform Designed for Global Reach

Microsoft’s strength lies in its ability to cater to clients on a global scale. With over 70 Azure regions around the world, businesses can meet data residency, latency, and compliance needs. Our Customer Success and technical specialist teams, alongside our global network of service partners, offer tailored, hands-on support to ensure every client—regardless of their location or industry—can thrive according to their needs.

Looking Ahead: Transitioning from Integration to Intelligence

The future of integration lies in intelligence. As business requirements evolve and AI becomes increasingly intertwined with daily operations, Azure Integration Services will continue to serve as the foundation that fosters agility, resilience, and innovation.

We are proud to be recognised as a Leader once again and are eager to assist organisations in transforming their operations and realising the full potential of AI-enhanced integration.
