In collaboration, Microsoft and Oracle are offering an all-encompassing platform for businesses looking to transition their Oracle solutions to the public cloud. This initiative particularly aims to support IT professionals and developers in facilitating AI integration and boosting workplace productivity.

Oracle Database@Azure was the pioneer offering in its field and now boasts the widest regional accessibility. It provides innovative ways to consolidate your data in Microsoft Fabric, enhanced security measures with Microsoft Defender, and supports a variety of Oracle Database services—including Base Database Service, Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure, and Autonomous Database. It also supports Oracle Database 19c or 23ai on Azure.

New Features for Real-Time Data Integration and Replication with Microsoft Fabric

With Oracle Database mirroring in OneLake, now in public preview, users can achieve continuous zero-ETL synchronization of Oracle data into OneLake, creating a cohesive real-time data environment within Microsoft Fabric. Additionally, the native integration of Oracle GoldenGate enables high-performance, low-latency data replication, purchasable through Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC). After connecting your Oracle data via Oracle Database@Azure, harness cutting-edge AI innovation tools like Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Power BI.

Oracle Base Database Now Generally Available

Oracle Database@Azure grants customers the versatility to run any Oracle Database service on Azure. It now supports all widely-used Oracle database services—Base Database Service, Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure, and Autonomous Database—as well as the option to use Oracle Database 19c or 23ai. This flexibility offers businesses a comprehensive suite of straightforward and cost-effective migration options when transferring their Oracle databases to Azure.

Moreover, support for Oracle workloads isn’t limited to Oracle Database services. We’re pleased to announce that Oracle has rolled out support policies for operating Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Enterprise Performance Management, and Oracle Retail Applications in Microsoft Azure via Oracle Database@Azure. This empowers organisations to leverage Microsoft Azure’s strengths while utilising Oracle’s advanced database technology to achieve increased scalability, performance, and security. We continue to provide full Oracle Maximum Availability (MAA) support—up to platinum tier—exclusively on Azure, offering the highest levels of availability, disaster recovery, and zero-data-loss protection for mission-critical operations.

Microsoft Defender Enhances Security for Oracle Database@Azure

Microsoft Defender stands out as a cloud-centric security platform that offers unified threat protection, vulnerability management, and automated compliance, safeguarding Oracle Database@Azure workloads. This, complemented by Microsoft Sentinel—which provides AI-powered security information and event management (SIEM) for real-time monitoring—and Microsoft Entra ID’s unified identity and access controls, delivers comprehensive enterprise-grade protection tailored for today’s complex threat landscape.

Azure Arc for Oracle Database@Azure

Azure Arc extends Azure’s management, governance, and security capabilities across various environments—whether on-premises, multi-cloud, or edge. With a single control plane, Azure Arc allows you to implement policies, manage identities, and automate lifecycle operations for all your Azure resources along with your Oracle databases running natively on Azure.

Integration Blueprint Powered by Azure IoT Operations and Microsoft Fabric

This integration allows manufacturers to glean real-time insights from factory machinery and sensors, automating essential processes, and encouraging data-driven decision-making for improved efficiency and responsiveness.

This new approach reinforces the partnership between Microsoft and Oracle while streamlining the migration process for customers who prefer the convenience of purchasing through their trusted partners.

Microsoft’s partner reseller programme motivated CGI to choose Oracle Database@Azure for consolidating cloud services under a single provider, ensuring the cost efficiency, flexibility, and redundancy vital for meeting CGI’s client demands. For Smart DCC, CGI is collaborating with Oracle and Microsoft to implement the solution via the Microsoft marketplace reseller system—creating a seamless purchasing path on a secure, enterprise-ready platform for mission-critical needs.
