Datalink Discovery Event Highlights

This week, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Datalink Discovery Event in the stunning locale of Palm Springs, California. The event brought together technology leaders, partners, and clients to explore the latest innovations in Microsoft Azure, Modern Workplace, and various other essential Microsoft products.

The agenda featured notable contributions from Datalink Networks, TD Synnex, and Microsoft, ensuring dynamic presentations and engaging discussions throughout the event.

Highlighting Artificial Intelligence

A significant focus throughout the sessions was on Artificial Intelligence. I was honoured to participate in the Ask the Expert panel, addressing questions from attendees on how AI is reshaping sectors like healthcare and retail.

We engaged in stimulating discussions around accuracy, delving into the distinctions between deterministic and non-deterministic AI outcomes—showcasing just how rapidly this field is advancing.

Co-Presenting with Turbo360

I had the pleasure of co-presenting with Justice Silva, where we highlighted the success stories emerging from Datalink Networks’ collaboration with Turbo360.

Through our partnership, Datalink has attained:

• Substantial percentage savings in Azure expenditure
• Enhanced productivity in managing and overseeing cloud costs
• It’s inspiring to see Datalink leveraging Turbo360 to achieve transparency and control over their Azure environments, ultimately fostering better business outcomes for their clients.

Networking and Charity Golf Event

Beyond the insightful sessions, Datalink organised a charity golf event in support of Ovarian Cancer awareness. Around 50 participants joined, making it a delightful and purposeful experience. I had the pleasure of playing alongside Don Wisdom (CEO) and Amr Salah (Director of Engineering); it was a joy to connect outside of regular Teams meetings, and we managed a respectable +2 over par!

Don and I shared valuable conversations about Datalink’s FY2026 growth plans, and the enthusiasm for what’s ahead is palpable.

Weather Conditions

The desert heat was quite intense, yet I somehow managed to bring a taste of Newcastle’s weather, as we experienced a bit of rain! Regardless, the sun cream was essential—Factor 50 became my best friend!

Celebrating Team Achievements

As the week drew to a close, I was invited to Datalink’s internal awards dinner, where the sense of connection and teamwork was truly uplifting.

Congratulations to Justice Silva, who was awarded the title of Most Versatile Employee—having collaborated closely with him, I can genuinely affirm that this recognition is well deserved.

Looking Forward

The event served as a fantastic reminder of the significance of community, partnership, and face-to-face interactions.

I eagerly anticipate enhancing our collaboration between Turbo360 and Datalink Networks as we approach 2026. The strong foundation we are building together feels promising—this is merely the beginning.
