GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing

Rather than tallying up premium requests, each Copilot plan will now feature a monthly allowance of GitHub AI Credits. For those on paid plans, there’s also the flexibility to buy extra usage. The consumption will be measured in tokens, which includes both the input and output, along with any cached tokens. The calculation will follow the API rates associated with each model.

This update ensures that Copilot pricing reflects actual use, making it a pivotal move towards a more sustainable and dependable experience for all users.
