Hostinger Ecommerce Review: Is This the Fastest Way to Launch an Online Store in 2026?

Hostinger Ecommerce provides a quick and user-friendly option for establishing an online shop. I recently experimented with it to set up a demo store named Apex Warrior Training, and it took me roughly two hours to complete. When compared to more established platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, Hostinger Ecommerce proved to be more accessible for beginners and straightforward to use. I would recommend it to anyone creating their first online store.

The primary strength of this service is its easy-to-use dashboard, which is heavily influenced by Hostinger’s hPanel. It encompasses all the essentials for new online retailers, including settings for products, taxes, shipping, payments, discounts, legal documentation, email confirmation templates, and much more.

The main drawback is that the standard “instant store” that it sets up is rather basic and lacks even minimal customisation options. Fortunately, you aren’t compelled to stick with it (details on that later), but it would be beneficial if Hostinger allowed users to select colour schemes and font combinations at least.

That’s a brief overview. To delve deeper into the Hostinger Ecommerce review, continue reading. I’ll analyse its features, pricing tiers, benefits, and drawbacks comprehensively. Additionally, I’ll guide you through the process of creating an online store with screenshots from my own setup. Here’s what you can anticipate:

Overview of Hostinger Ecommerce

Plans and Pricing

Hostinger Ecommerce offers three distinct plans:

• Starter plan: begins at $2.99 monthly, allowing for the sale of five physical or digital products, primarily aimed at social media selling.
• Growth plan: starts at $7.99 per month, enables the sale of 300 products of various types, management of three businesses, and connections to three sales channels, suitable for most ecommerce activities.
• Scale plan: starting at $19.99 per month, facilitates unlimited product sales, management of limitless businesses, and connection to an unlimited number of sales channels, tailored for extensive operations.

How to Build and Launch a Simple Online Store with Hostinger Ecommerce

As I previously noted, I utilised Hostinger Ecommerce to establish a petite online shop named Apex Warrior Training. This was to assess the platform’s functionality and illustrate its usage.

Before I outline the steps, it’s important to clarify one thing: Hostinger Ecommerce isn’t a traditional website builder. Its primary role is managing product inventories, tax regulations, shipping parameters, customer lists, and all other facets of running an e-commerce operation. Essentially, it’s a backend system.

However, starting from the second-tier Growth plan, Hostinger Ecommerce allows you to connect up to three “sales channels” to your account, which serve as the front-facing aspect of your business (i.e., your website). You have three options:

• Utilise an AI-generated one-page store (automatic; no effort required)
• Employ Hostinger’s AI builder to create a bespoke website (very beginner-friendly; minimal effort)
• Construct your own custom front end and link it (requires technical knowledge; significant effort)

If I were to utilise Hostinger Ecommerce to establish an actual enterprise, I would select the third method. Nevertheless, this choice does not affect the process detailed below, which provides a foundational approach to getting started regardless of the option you choose. You might need to adjust slightly based on your business objectives and the products or services you intend to market.

Step One: Register for a Hostinger Ecommerce Plan and Navigate to It

To get started, visit the Hostinger Ecommerce page and select a plan. If you do not have a general Hostinger account yet, you will need to provide some basic details and complete the payment process.

After logging in, use the left menu in the hPanel to access the Hostinger apps section. There you will see the option for Ecommerce. Click on it, and you will land on a page with a button inviting you to Create your first store:

Step Two: Complete the Store Setup Wizard

By clicking the Create your first store button, a three-step setup wizard will launch.

In the first stage, you will be asked to upload up to five product images:

For my store, I included images of various fitness equipment, such as kettlebells, gymnastics rings, a barbell, and a pull-up bar.

After uploading your product images, Hostinger Ecommerce will prompt you to name your store and suggest a few names, with the option to create your own. I found the suggested names somewhat lackluster, so I opted to use my own: Apex Warrior Training.

For the final step of the setup wizard, you can set up payment options or proceed directly to the Hostinger Ecommerce dashboard:

I chose to proceed directly to the dashboard. If you are not ready for this step, you can do the same.

The Payments screen is easily accessible, allowing you to postpone this step with no issues. To access it later, go to the Setup section in the dashboard, and find it under Settings → Payments:

You will find three main options: Stripe, PayPal, and dLocal Go. However, “three” is somewhat misleading, as Stripe and dLocal Go each provide access to numerous ways of receiving payments.

Step Three: Review and Adjust AI-Generated Product Descriptions and Prices

The next step I took was to review my product catalogue. Hostinger Ecommerce uses AI to automatically generate product descriptions and prices for any images you uploaded during the initial stage of the setup wizard. This speeds up the catalogue creation process, but they are not perfect. It’s crucial to review each item individually.

Here’s how I approached it, and how you can too:

Within the dashboard, navigate to Catalog → Products. Click on the three horizontal dots beside each product item, then select Edit from the submenu that appears:

On the following screen, you can modify the product name, revise the subtitle and description, or add a label. Labels are indicators such as “New Arrival” or “Sale” that highlight your product on the webpage.

You can also change the price, add a discounted price or a SKU number, and set a threshold for when you want to be notified about restocking inventory:

Step Four: Edit Your Store’s Business Details and Add a Logo

After adjusting my product descriptions and prices, I proceeded to personalise my store by navigating to Setup → Settings → Store settings:

Here, I was able to upload a logo, set the currency, select the store language, and provide my business contact details. Everything is intuitive. Click the Save button on the bottom right when finished:

Step Five: Add Tax Rules

Managing taxes is perhaps the most tedious aspect of running an e-commerce store, but, similar to other tasks, Hostinger Ecommerce simplifies this process.

I didn’t entirely finish this step because I was only creating a demo store, but I got far enough to grasp what it would be like in reality.

To do this yourself, head to the Setup section, click on Settings, followed by Taxes. Then click the purple Add tax rules button:

After enabling tax rules, you can click on Add Country to select the country or countries that apply to you (i.e., the locations where your business is registered or where you expect to incur tax liabilities):

Once you’ve selected your tax region(s), proceed to:

• Designate a name for your tax rate (e.g., sales tax).
• Determine the percentage amount.
• Select if this tax applies to the total shipping cost or solely to the product itself.

The final decision regarding tax relates to when it is displayed.

• Would you prefer the tax to be applied upfront, allowing customers to see it directly when evaluating a product?
• Or do you prefer to apply it at checkout, so customers aren’t aware of the final price until they are preparing to pay?

Make your choice and proceed to the next stage.

Step Six: Create and Activate Checkout Policies

Among all the stages in this guide, this one offers the least assistance from Hostinger Ecommerce; however, this is understandable. Hostinger has no insight into your store’s privacy policy, return policy, or terms and conditions. Those are personal decisions that you must make.

The design of this step assumes you don’t intend to rely on the automatically-generated instant store for your business’s front end. It is effectively a series of placeholders soliciting links to webpages corresponding to each policy:

If you find the instant store sufficient and don’t intend to create a separate site, a simple approach is to place your policies into individual Google Docs. After that, make each document publicly accessible by selecting File → Share → Publish to web:

Google Docs will provide you with the link. Copy and paste it into the appropriate section on the Checkout policies page to complete this stage.

Step Seven (If Applicable): Set Up Shipping

Setting up shipping policies and processes only applies to those marketing physical products, which was relevant to me as my demo store featured several types of workout equipment.

If you also plan to sell physical items, here’s how to manage the shipping:

Navigate to Setup → Settings → Shipping. Click the purple Create zone button:

On the following screen, click the Add option button to the right. This will prompt a pop-up allowing you to configure a shipping rate, name it (e.g., Standard USPS, FedEx Standard Overnight, UPS Ground, etc.), set the cost, and establish triggering conditions based on order value or order weight.

Once you’ve completed the process, click the purple Add button at the bottom right of the pop-up:

To add further rates, simply repeat this process starting with the Add option button.

In addition to shipping rates, you might also consider integrating Shippo with your store. This will automate your shipping labels through a network of over 40 carriers and update tracking information directly from each carrier.

To set it up, go to Setup → Integrations. As of this writing, there are only two options available, making it straightforward. Choose Shippo, click Get started. When the Shippo pop-up appears, click Add Shippo to activate it:

What I Didn’t Show You

The seven-step process described above outlines the approach I took to construct my Apex Warrior Training demo store. This covers the essential functions that most store owners require to initiate an ecommerce business. Nonetheless, there are subtleties based on what you intend to sell. For instance, a store selling digital products won’t operate in the same manner as one focused on appointments or print-on-demand apparel.

In other words, you will need to make some adjustments here and there.

There are additional features within Hostinger Ecommerce that I did not illustrate (such as discount codes) as they are minor and you will encounter them while creating your store.

Finally, as I mentioned at the outset of this walkthrough, if I were to turn this store into a genuine business, I would design a custom storefront. The instant store created by Hostinger Ecommerce is functional, but it lacks appeal. It appears like this:

If that suits your needs, by all means, keep it. Otherwise, utilise Hostinger’s AI builder to create a more visually appealing website for your business and start selling.

Final Thoughts

Hostinger Ecommerce clearly articulates its purpose right in the name. This clarity is evident throughout the service, from constructing your store to selecting one of its three pricing plans. I cannot recall the last time I used an ecommerce platform that was this simple to set up and navigate. This renders it a fantastic option for newcomers or those seeking a seamless experience.

For many of you reading this, the mid-tier Growth plan will likely suit your needs, but here’s a quick summary to assist in your final choice:

• The Starter plan is ideal for those who do not require a website yet wish for a platform to manage their products, customers, and backend operations. You can generate checkout links for payments, embed them anywhere you are promoting, and start earning.
• If you’re ready to launch a genuine online shop, the Growth plan is the way to go. It accommodates physical and digital goods, along with print-on-demand products, subscriptions, and appointments. Plus, it permits up to 300 products across three sales channels, addressing most scenarios.
• The Scale plan is suitable for ecommerce operations with high sales volumes but low structural complexity. This includes high-volume dropshippers, non-technical solopreneurs (or small groups), or retailers with a low-complexity, high-SKU product catalogue.
