- Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps DLP is set to retire on December 31, 2026: Microsoft is merging its Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities from Defender for Cloud Apps (MDA) into Microsoft Purview, which will serve as the central hub for unified data security throughout Microsoft 365. MDA DLP will no longer be available after December 31, 2026. - Frontier Accelerate for Security: Microsoft is guiding customers to speed up AI transformation across three key areas: offering trusted expertise, accessing investment opportunities, and providing the necessary skilling resources to help customers embark on their journey. For Security, partner incentives are now consolidated under this Frontier Accelerate for Security initiative. This means that all Security investments for both presales and post-sales are located within a singular framework, simplifying and standardising eligibility across the board.
- Security Envisioning Workshops have been rebranded to Frontier Accelerate for Security: Envisioning & Proof of Concept (POC): Instead of choosing from a fixed number of workshop topics, the content is now modular, allowing you to build a tailored workshop experience based on each customer’s specific security requirements. These partner-led, one-on-one technical workshops assist customers in evaluating advanced Microsoft Security offerings, thus building the intent to purchase. - Security Immersion Briefings: These partner-led engagements are crafted to prepare partners to serve as trusted security advisors. Offered either in-person or virtually, these engaging 90-minute sessions guide Small Medium Enterprises & Channel (SME&C) and small to medium-sized business (SMB) customers through actual security challenges and how to bolster their security posture with Microsoft solutions. These briefings are available in three areas: Threat Protection, Data Security, and Advanced Security for Business Premium. Additionally, partners can access a ready-made package of assets, including an overview guide and email templates, in multiple languages for easier use across various markets. - FY27 partner incentives: Get acquainted with the enhanced rewards available for post-sales adoption, usage, and consumption, along with a new conversion bonus. - The Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) certification will be retired: This certification will cease in August 2026 and will be substituted by the new Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate (SC-500) certification. Partners have a transition window to use either certification to meet the skilling necessities for the Solutions Partner designation within Security and its related specializations.
