Now Generally Available: Napster API as an Azure Native Integration

We’re thrilled to share that the Azure Native Integration with the Napster API is now fully available! This means you can easily provision and manage your Napster API resources right from the Azure portal. Plus, enjoy unified billing through the Azure Marketplace and seamless entry into the dashboard using Microsoft Entra single sign-on for all your Omniagent setup needs.

This achievement comes after the public preview we introduced at Microsoft Build 2026. We’ve closely collaborated with Napster since then to refine the integration, expand its functionality within Azure tools, and incorporate valuable feedback from early users.

For developers and tech teams, this marks a significant evolution from isolated chat features to AI agents that serve as comprehensive interaction layers across various products, services, and workflows. Rather than just being a component of a product, the agent is now the focal point.

Before diving into specifics, let’s walk you through the entire process. This tutorial starts with creating a Napster API resource in the Azure portal, followed by logging into the Napster dashboard using Microsoft Entra single sign-on, and finally, building an Omniagent from the ground up. We’ll introduce you to our agent called Ben, showcasing his persona, knowledge base, and the tools he can utilize. After setting everything up, we’ll watch him go live.

During this demonstration, you’ll follow a single customer and Ben across three distinct platforms—starting on a mobile device, transitioning to an on-site kiosk, and then resuming the conversation via a voice call two days later. Pay attention to what remains consistent. Ben is well-acquainted with the product catalogue, verifies live inventory, executes actions in connected systems, and brings in a human colleague when needed. Notably, he retains the customer’s identity and their previous inquiries regardless of the communication channel. Everything you see is part of one resource, one agent and one memory, all provisioned and billed just like any other Azure service.

The Napster API is designed to develop Omniagents: advanced AI agents that operate seamlessly across multiple channels while retaining a unified identity, memory, and toolset. No matter where the customer connects—be it the website, mobile app, video chat, or phone line—this Omniagent presents a consistent face, voice, and remembers previous conversations.

Think of an Omniagent as your digital assistant:

• It has a defined role—whether it’s a customer support specialist, sales advisor, or internal IT helper.
• It retains the memory of past interactions and prior conversations.
• It possesses the necessary tools for its job: APIs, knowledge bases, ticketing systems, and CRMs.
• It operates on all surfaces that the end user engages with, similar to a human assistant who responds to emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries.

When faced with queries beyond its capabilities, an Omniagent can transfer the conversation to a human colleague, while maintaining all the context, ready to take over once the human has resolved the issue.

This translates into continuous agents that retain context across web, mobile, voice, video, and phone; provide realtime interactions; coordinate your tools and APIs to perform tasks like opening tickets, updating records, and triggering workflows; and allow for configurable personas with knowledge bases tailored for precision. Additionally, they come equipped with both SDKs and a user-friendly no-code dashboard for building and refining applications.

Many teams are already leveraging the Napster API for various use cases:

• Agentic commerce. Engaging agents that assist users in discovering products, making recommendations, completing purchases, and providing post-sale support in a continuous conversation across different platforms.
