Partner Blog | Partner-led momentum, broader availability for SMB: Microsoft 365 Business with Copilot
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are now entering an exciting new stage in their journey with AI. This phase is not about simply testing ideas anymore; it’s about making AI a part of daily operations and seeing real, scalable benefits as businesses embrace what we’re calling Frontier Transformation. According to the 2026 Work Trend Index Annual Report, 58% of AI users have reported creating work they couldn’t have accomplished just a year ago. Plus, 66% find that they can now focus more on high-value tasks as AI handles the execution.
For partners supporting SMBs, this represents a significant turning point. The key is to go beyond merely providing access to AI; it’s about helping these businesses effectively implement and scale their use of it. This includes simplifying the buying process, ensuring predictable renewals, and enhancing existing services centred around AI-driven productivity and secure operations.
We’re already seeing these trends reflected within our partner network. In December, we launched Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, designed to simplify AI adoption for SMBs while fostering a partner-led approach. Early adopters among our partners have confirmed there is strong and increasing demand for these solutions.
This positive development highlights a wider change in the nature of work. AI shines brightest when it becomes a seamless part of daily tasks, fortified with the appropriate security, governance, and contextual understanding right from the start. SMB customers prefer a straightforward purchasing experience, predictable renewals, and a smooth implementation process across their teams and locations without unnecessary complications.
In light of this momentum, we’re adjusting our strategy to create more opportunities for partner-led initiatives with new SKUs tailored for SMB purchasing and renewal behaviours. These offerings provide partners with consistent deals they can confidently promote during renewal discussions.
What’s Launching on July 1
From July 1, 2026, we will be transforming promotional bundles into two durable SKUs, available at current promotional prices. This change offers partners a more stable and scalable approach to foster adoption and renewal opportunities with their customers.
- Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot: $23.50/user/month1
(1–300 seats, annual subscription with annual billing) - Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Copilot: $32/user/month
(1–300 seats, annual subscription with annual billing)
We are also introducing a new 25% promotional offer on Microsoft 365 Business Basic plus Microsoft 365 Copilot Business ($21/user/month, 1–300 seats, for annual subscription with annual billing), which will be available until December 31, 2026. This provides a great entry point for current Business Basic users eager to kick off their journey with Copilot.
Additionally, the ongoing 15% promotional offer on Microsoft 365 Copilot Business ($18/user/month, 1–300 seats, for annual subscription with annual billing) has been extended through December 31, 2026, offering partners even more opportunities to enhance AI adoption and build their pipelines.
We encourage partners to lead with Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot or Business Premium with Copilot as integrated offerings that blend productivity, AI, and security. This helps facilitate meaningful conversations with SMBs. Furthermore, Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard, and Premium will continue to be available as standalone options for customers who prefer to purchase Copilot separately, providing flexibility to cater to various customer needs.
