David Weston heads up Agentic Security at Microsoft, where he and his talented team are reshaping the landscape of cyber defence through AI models, autonomous agents, and evaluation systems. Having joined Microsoft during the Windows 7 days, David has honed his expertise in various areas, including exploit mitigation design, malware analysis, and advanced persistent threat (APT) research. He’s also spearheaded security engineering for major platforms such as Windows, Xbox, Azure OS, and the Offensive Security Research & Engineering group. Currently, his focus is on guiding teams that train cutting-edge security models and agentic systems for defenders, while also driving AI-powered vulnerability detection via Microsoft’s Multi-Model Agentic Scanning Harness (MDASH). As a seasoned figure in the research community and a former technical advisor for CISA, David frequently shares insights at notable events like BlueHat, Black Hat, and DEF CON.
